I for one believe that Judas was in fact evil. I believe that since all things work for good to those who believe, God used the man to fulfil His will. But I do not believe Judas and Jesus were best friends after the betrayal.

Double true. Intersting [but not surprising] that things haven't changed. Judas sold out Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Scholars sold out their integrity (and Jesus) for money, as well.

I would agree. I guess it is true today as it was in their day. It is all a heart issue.
