My First Garden

It's a long boring story, so let me not bore you with the ... well, let me bore you. You see we had this brick patio-ish area outside of our back door (which functions as our front door. We didn't use it for anything and it looked ugly. So, I pulled up all the bricks, put down 19 bags of soil, planted five plants and planted a bunch of impatiens (sp?). It looks a bit sparse, and needs more soil, but Naomi said "it looks better than the bricks," so I'm satisfied. There's more to the story, but I'll stop there.

You are correct on your spelling. Do what I do, make yourself a Wiktionary bookmark and put it on your toolbar... it's the only way I ever spell anything correctly.

Even better, Jenny. Put the Wiktionary bookmark in. Use it. Then put the "(sp?)" after the word. Then every time people will think you guessed at it AND got it right every time. They'll think you're a brilliant person who just so happens to second guess herself.

So how many trips for dirt did it take.... those "little" spaces can be deceptive when you try to "fill them in!"
It looks good... the bricks... are piled... how high? Where?? :)

RAS - Piled about two feet high by two feet wide by four feet long (or so) in the garage. They're yours if you want them. I did the dirt trip in one trip. When you come, perhaps we can hit the home depot to pick up another 10 bags for filler. That would make about 30 bags total. Then next year I can add another 10 bags or so. I don't know if I mentioned it in the post, but I did NOT remove the sand underneath for better or for worse. It would have taken forever, and I don't have that long to work on it since I don't plan to live there forever.
