Busted Radiator

So, I was filling the radiator on our 1990 Toyota Camry last night with a gallon of water. I thought to myself the same thing I've been thinking the past few weeks: "Maybe we should get a new car." So at 7:10 am this morning I hopped on autotrader.com, found a reasonably priced 1999 Silver Spruce Mettalic colored Toyota Sienna with 68K miles and at 5 pm Naomi was driving home in it with the boys. Sam called it a "truck." We got it at Martin Nissan in Skokie, IL (10 minutes from where Naomi works). Free oil changes there while we own the car!

What this also means is that my primary car is once again a Saturn. I like my Saturn. I had to sell mine to help pay for school and we kept Naomi's. Now it's mine. This also means that I will have heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. Thank God for air conditioning;o).

Heidi will certainly be mad since she recommended that we purchase a mini-van a week ago when we left for Canada in the Saturn - the five of us with a car top carrier. Heidi, just be glad that Naomi sat in the back.

Wow congrats.
I just bought a van myself an oldsmobile. Buy American!!! LOL Laura has her Toyota Sienna too, so the Buehrle's are split on foreign vrs domestic vehicles. Glad you have a good van now. Hope your deal was sweet!

Thanks, dad. I think we got a sweet deal ... but, of course, everyone thinks they get a sweet deal;o) ... if the dealer is willing to sell it for the price we offer, we're probably getting an average deal;o). Good low miles, clean interior and aveage scrapes on the outside for a '99, though. I believe the Canadian side of the family are full-fledged American/Canadian vehicle fans. Sorry, Ron. At least our Saturn is semi-American.

Actually I'm glad to hear there are a few people out there supporting the american assembled vehicles.... I say assembled since many of our parts now come from every corner of the world that has cheap (sorry... inexpensive labour).
I'm glad to see that Naomi will no longer have to ride between the car seats....drive safe and welcome to the newest phase of your life.... the mini-van era!!

Miles -- it's better than a Vespa!

Ron -- Sam calls it a "truck". He's helping our transition to mini-van. I just keep telling myself: it's a truck ...

Heidi -- Through prayer and extensive counseling, you can get over your anger problem;o)
