July Updates

Quick post ...

1.) Movie Review: Hancock = D+. The first half of the movie was somewhat lewd, somewhat funny. The second half evidenced the fact that the writer was hocked up on either psychodelic-stupid-making drugs - or that George Lucas stole the script and rewrote the second half.

2.) We went to Cleveland last week. Naomi interviewed and got a job at Cleveland Clinic as a uro-GYN nurse in a clinic in Cleveland proper. Starting date is late July.

3.) We put an offer in on a house in the Cleveland-ish area. Waiting for the finalization of the offer ... with a closing date of August 20th (it's a "flipped" house)

4.) Sam had his 4th birthday on July 3rd complete with squirt guns and a dip in the pool on the way up to Canada in the hotel.

5.) Matt had a 32nd birthday on the road on July 4th complete with a root beer frosty from Wendy's and a Swiss Chalet dinner in Canada.

6.) We were able to spend a bit of time with Great Grandpa George (Naomi's Grandpa). He will not likely be leaving the hospital, so we were glad that we were able to make it there.

7.) Boys are still having a fun time in Canada with Naomi while I'm back home. Turned in my two week's notice today.

8.) While we're in housing "limbo" starting two weeks from now, we (me and the boys) will be spending most of our time in an extended stay in the Cleveland-ish area, North Carolina with a couple stop offs in Indiana and Virginia. I'll be doing a bit o' painting in Durham for the folks.

9.) What will I be doing in Cleveland-ish, Ohio? Volunteering at our church there (Providence Church of Avon, OH) and "Mr. Mom"-ing. The move to Cleveland was prompted by our desire to plant (read: start) a new church with friends (Meauxs) out of Providence Church. Those plans are in their infancy while we plug into the life of the "mother" church.

Hope that update is helpful. Too much going on to include everything. If we didn't tell you these plans personally ... whoops ... we've been busy;o) ...

Matt,
If you guys are in Durham let us know and we can come down. I would love to meet your boys and let you guys see Elijah and Lydia.

Sounds like fun! I've heard good things about the Cleveland Clinic. Good luck on the move. Let us know if you make it back to Chi-town in Oct.

good to get caught up with an unusually informative post. If the Vespa shop nearby is Pride of Cleveland Vespa, then that is a relatively famous shop and staffed by people who seem good and friendly. If you're thinking about a scooter, you might not be able to do much better than there.

Give us dates on the trip to NC when you have them.

Tentative Durham dates: July 28th - August 8th or 9th.

Oh, and I was wondering about the scooter shop for YOUR sake if YOU were to come for a visit, Miles. I have no intention of buying a scooter. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate them ... just not for me ...
