Peet's, Postfoundationalism and Pirates

Ahoy, Matey! Sam & Ben went to a Pirate party today in Evanston with Naomi ... and I went to Peet's coffee for the first time and had a delicious mocha. While I was there I read some of Vanhoozer's The Drama of Doctrine to get the ol' wheels turning inside my pinhead. I still don't know what postfoundationalism is.

postfoundationalism ?

Who comes up with words like this?

Perhaps it has to do with the idea of the church being built on the foundation of prophets and apostles and that they believe this is no longer the way Christ builds His Church.

Nope. That's not what postfoundationalism is, but I don't think I could define it exactly. Scholars who are interacting with other scholars come up with those terms. It's like in medicine. Why do they call it gastroenterology when it's really just the study of tummy aches?

Matt you've been reading "drama" (nickname mine) for quite some time. Are you almost done? The reason is I would like to read it too (mostly so that I can tell others that I am reading it).

sfb - i'll give it to cindy to bring to you on tuesday. i'd like to know what you think of it, because i don't mean to sound smarter than vanhoozer ... that's not possible ... but i don't think he's saying much new ...
