this is how we roll
Burly, Thanks for the posts on my site. I'll return the favor. The Church I go to is a new church plant called Gateway Bible Church. The parent church is this place called Immanuel Bible Church which is this giant church in Alexandria. You might know of IBC because the old pastor is now president of Moody in Chicago. I don't have many thoughts on Emergent yet, but I've been more and more attacted to churches that emphasize trying to serve Christ by trying to address both spiritual and earthly suffering and I of the churches I've come across lately, the ones balancing these two ministries best have been "emerging" type groups. Still I went to a service and did not really resonate with the postmodern worship style. Too unstructured for me to really feel like I was giving God the attention and reflection he deserved in my worship. But I'm still hopeful that more old school churches might be inspired to rethink the parts of their service that might be worn out. So I'm following to see how things will develop. Plus I just like reading their blogs. usually thought provoking. One funny thing is that I watched this news report on emergent and a prof from Trinity was the one offering gentle criticism and Brooklynne and I wondered what your take would be. Anywho, I've written a book, but since no one else has posted I won't feel too bad. I get a mulligan for being your first comment!
I see that I have inspired you to greatness. Another victim of my leadership ...
